My comment:
I bath my baby 2 times a day, around 9am and 5pm. Before bathing my baby, I apply some herbal medicated oil onto the top of his soft spot and belly button. My parents also ask me to apply some onto his middle chest as well. After the bath and dry off baby's belly button, I apply again on the same 3 spots. It's believe to avoid wind goes inside the tummy.
Sometimes I see baby's head skin is dirty. Some dirt may even being peeled off easily by finger nails. It may be due to the usage of medicated oil for too many times and it has been added on some sweats of baby. So, I apply on some Drapolene to soften the dirt and peel them off carefully with comb.
Wilisan 100% Pure Glycerine
Directions for Use:
Apply on the affected area 3 to 4 times daily. Use cotton wool soaked with glycerine to clean oral cavity, then rinse the mouth with water.
Precautions:
Do not swallow the glycerine in large amount, it may cause headache, nausea and vomiting.
My comment:
I always use it to clean my baby's milk stains on his tounge and mouth after his daily morning bath. I tried to taste the glycerine. It's mint flavoured. Since brushing is unavailable at the stage of newborn, we clean their tounge and mouth by rubbing this glycerine. After rubbing, I give a bottle of water for him to drink. He seems ok to it and like it. But, at the late first year of age, he refuse to rub with it. So, I switch to rub his tounge with only handkerchief during his bath.
GSK Drapolene Cream
Nappy Rash
Babies have sensitive skins which need extra care. The nappy area is particularly prone to rashes and even the best kept babies get nappy rashes and sore bottoms from time to time.
Nappy rash is due to irritation of the skin by the chemical breakdown of urine through urine-splitting germs. At first, the skin is spotty red and moist, later becoming thick and wrinkled, then peeling at the edges.
Other complicating infections may develop if the tender skin is left unattended.
Drapolene contains 2 gentle, yet powerful antiseptics, which kill the urine-splitting germs. Drapolene treats and prevents the infection whilst it soothes and brings relief to baby’s tender skin.
Treatment Direction:
Change soiled napkin regularly. Wash and dry baby’s bottom and apply Drapolene Cream after every nappy change.
How to obtain best results with Drapolene Cream?
When applying Drapolene Cream, spread evenly paying particular attention to the folds of the skin. It is important to make sure that the affected area is dry and free from all traces of soap.
My comment:
Sometimes I see red spots on my baby's bottom skin. It may be caused by too frequent usage of diapers or putting on diapers for too long time. Sometimes when he has a constipation, the area around the hole became red. So, I apply some Drapolene evenly on the affected area.
It's seldom that my baby's folds of skin affected. The folds of skin are mostly affected due to urine-splitting.
I apply the Drapolene on my baby's skin whenever it's needed. Sometimes 3 times a day when the skin area became affected.
